Professors Dr. Erin Hannah and Dr. Thomas Tieku of King’s Political Science department travelled to Singapore to present papers for the International Studies Association Global South Caucus Conference on January 9, 2015.

The Caucus was comprised of scholars who study the global south regions, the south as a whole, relevant south societies in the North, or relationships between the north and south. The Global South Caucus is a “trans-sectional” network that aims to provide a channel for the sharing of research, information and ideas among scholars and practitioners of/in the various regions of the south.

Of note, Dr. Hannah and Dr. Tieku attended the conference with Amy Wood, a King’s Alumnus, and Masters Candidate in Global Governance at the Balsillie School of International Affairs at the University of Waterloo. Amy was the research assistant for Dr. Hannah and James Scott’s research for their Social Science and Human Resources Council (SSHRC) funded project. A large part of their grant goes to training graduate students. Her participation in the conference was part of that initiative.
