King's to host United Nations GIFT Box Project (UNGIFT)

Representatives from the King’s University College Social Justice and Peace (SJP) Club and the Sisters of St. Joseph present the United Nations Global Initiative to Fight Trafficking (UNGIFT) Box project. The exhibit was designed to raise awareness of human trafficking in London.
The UNGIFT Box is a unique piece of public art that stands in solidarity with survivors of human trafficking. The UNGIFT Box was originally launched by Stop the Traffik and UN.GIFT during the 2012 London Olympics. It was later introduced by Faith Alliance to End Human Trafficking, the first Canadian organization to host the GIFT Box project, during the 2015 Parapan Am and Pan Am Games.
King’s will host the UNGIFT Box from Tuesday, January 17, 2017 to Friday, January 27, 2017 in the lobby of the Elizabeth A “Bessie” Labatt Hall (LH), 266 Epworth Ave., London Ontario. An opening reception is set for Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. The ceremony will include words from the Sisters of St. Joseph’s, SJP club student representative Sydney Phillips, King’s Principal Dr. David Sylvester, King’s Dean of Students Joe Henry, and King’s Political Science professor Dr. Nigmendra Narain. Media and guest parking is available in lot 1 on the north side of Epworth Avenue.
