Congratulations to first year King’s student, Eric Straatman and his band, On A Tuesday. The group, among many other bands, entered The London Music Office’s contest to be the opening act for the popular Canadian band, USS. After a challenging competition, Straatman and his band were declared the winners. Straatman is from Thorndale, Ontario and he is a graduate of Medway High School. He now studies Economics at King’s. Straatman says he chose King’s because of its welcoming environment and smaller class sizes. When he’s not in class or completing assignments, he’s taking on the role of lead guitarist and vocalist in his band. With musical influences like Kings of Leon and Foo Fighters, the alternative rock band, On A Tuesday, is comprised of Straatman and friends, Drew Blanchette (bass), Connor MacArthur (drums) and Duncan Chevrier (guitar). The band started when Straatman and a friend of his were eight years old with a set of drums and a guitar. Now, after 10 years, the group has been playing in various venues across Ontario.

They have been working to perfect their sound, release new music and that’s exactly what they plan to bring to the table on January 26, 2017 at The London Concert Theatre before USS hits the stage. Music from On A Tuesday can be found on outlets like iTunes, Spotify, YouTube and more. Tickets for the January 26th show can be found online here.
