Fourth year student in Social Justice and Peace Studies and Anthropology, Amanda Wilson, will partake in the Notre Dame Student Peace Conference. The Notre Dame Student Peace conference is an annual conference organized by students to allow undergraduate and graduate students to discuss issues related to peace building, social justice and global concerns. Sponsored by the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies, the 2016 conference is held from April 8-9.

Wilson will present on a discussion panel on Post-Conflict Restorative Transformations on Saturday, April 9, 2016. The central idea of her paper is on the mediation that occurred in Kenya in 2008. Her paper looks at the role of the mediator in the conflict, how they played a part in de-escalating the violence, the signing of the National Accord, and the formation of the grand coalition government.

King’s would like to wish Amanda good luck at the conference.
