King's making mark in Brazil
King’s student David Gonzales is wearing his King's colours with pride while on exchange in Brazil. In South America on an exchange with Pontificia Universidade Catolica (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), Gonzales is taking in many learning opportunities and is working hard to promote King's and Canada to prospective students.
"I've had many great experiences just in this last month including working at various Rio+20 events," notes Gonzales. "This was the largest UN conference ever and I had the opportunity to attend and work at many events. I was able to see many people including the Prime Minister of Denmark, the President of Zambia and Mary Robinson, former President of Ireland and UN High Commissioner for Human Rights." He was even fortunate enough to meet the new President of France, François Hollande. Gonzales says that this experience has "further fueled [his] desire to pursue a career in the field of international relations/education."
Earlier this month, he was able to promote King's at Pontificia Universidade Catolica during their International Fair. "It was a great experience and I was able to get many people interested in studying at King's," he notes with pride.
